Epilepsia sintomática

Symptomatic acute seizures appear between 1-10% of the stroke. They are usually easily controlled with one or two epileptic drugs and hardly end up in status epilepticus. While prevention as primary prophylaxis is not advised once start treatment no prolonged treatment is recommended (between 7 days or a few weeks), or  unless was produced a recurrence of the same or appear late seizures after stroke.
